How It Works
Peak sun hours (PSH) measure equivalent hours of full-intensity sunlight per day, not just daylight hours. A location with 5 PSH receives energy equivalent to 5 hours of 1,000 W/m² irradiance. Latitude, cloud cover, and panel tilt all affect this value. Southern states like Arizona get 6-7 PSH while northern states like Washington get 3-4 PSH.
