How It Works

Solar panels wired in series add their voltages while current stays the same. Panels in parallel add their currents while voltage stays the same. Most grid-tied inverters require 200-600V DC input, so you wire panels in strings of 8-14 to reach this range. String sizing must stay within your inverter or charge controller voltage limits.
