How It Works

The optimal annual tilt angle is roughly your latitude times 0.76 plus 3.1 degrees. Adjusting seasonally can boost output: subtract 15 degrees in summer and add 15 degrees in winter. Most rooftop installations use a fixed tilt matching the roof pitch. South-facing is ideal in the Northern Hemisphere; east or west-facing reduces output by 10-15%.
