How It Works

Your inverter must handle both continuous loads (everything running at once) and surge loads (motors starting up, which can draw 2-3x their rated watts). Add a 25% safety margin for continuous rating and plan for future expansion. Pure sine wave inverters are required for sensitive electronics. Standard residential sizes range from 5,000 to 12,000 watts.
