How It Works

Battery charge time depends on the capacity deficit, charge current, and charging efficiency. Lithium batteries charge at about 90-95% efficiency, while lead-acid drops to 80-85% especially in the absorption phase. In practice, charging slows down above 80% SOC as the battery management system tapers current to protect cells.
